Along with the training, our services also include commercial work and boat maintence. Our AIM is to provide a quality service for ALL your marine needs.

SRC –VHF GMDSS RADIO
A course for both Skippers and Crew (prerequisite for the Coastal Skipper/ Yachtmaster Offshore practical exam)
This is a one-day course that will teach you the aspects of operating a marine VHF/DSC Radio. From voice technique to send a distress call, all is covered. Practical simulators are used to get you hands on. Book a place today and lets qualify you to operate all VHF radios.

FIRST AID AT SEA
This one-day course could mean the difference between life and death. This course will teach you how to cope with medical emergencies on board.
This is a practical course covering all aspects of basic life support, casualty management, obtaining outside medical assistance and helicopter rescue. The certificate is valid for three years.

DIESEL MAINTENANCE
Want that little bit more knowledge on how your boat engine works.. And be more self-sufficient on board? Well here’s the course for you!
This is a hand’s on course, working with a running diesel engine. Our instructors will help you understand the different parts and systems, faultfinding, as well as routine maintenance and winter lay up.

DAY SKIPPER SHOREBASED
Attending the RYA Day Skipper shorebased course is the first step towards becoming a yacht skipper. In our classroom or a venue of your choice (numbers dependent) you will learn the basics of navigation, pilotage, weather, rules of the road and how to plan your first passage.
This course will give you all of the navigation and theoretical knowledge required to move on towards Day Skipper practical course and Day Skipper qualification. This elementary course requires no previous knowledge, but some practical experience is desirable.

COSTAL SKIPPER \| YACHT MASTER SHOREBASED
This is an advanced navigation course for those who wish to take the Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Certificate. We assume that you are already qualified as a Day Skipper and although there is some time set aside for the revision of subjects covered in the elementary course you should arrive with a good understanding of the basics.
On this course you will cover more complex aspects of navigation at sea including how to work out secondary tidal heights, position fixing, navigation in restricted visibility, passage planning and the capabilities and limitations of electronic navigation aids.

Basic Sea Survival
It is a well-proven fact that in the event of an emergency at sea, people who have received training are more likely to survive. The purpose of this course is to give a person who goes to sea in small commercial motor/sailing vessels the basic knowledge and practical experience of personal survival principles and techniques. You will learn about preparation for survival, lifejackets, search & rescue. A practical session in a swimming pool with a life raft puts your new knowledge to the test. This course is a must for everyone who goes afloat.

Powerboat instructor training
The Powerboat Instructor is a competent, experienced powerboater who has been trained to teach powerboating up to Level 2 under the supervision of the Principal or Chief Instructor of a recognised centre.

Prerequisites:	Candidates should have logged at least five seasons' experience of powerboating, preferably in a range of boat types and sizes. For those who use powerboats as an integral part of their normal full-time occupation, this period is reduced to one season. Candidates will hold the RYA's Level 2 powerboat certificate and a valid first aid certificate. No candidate under the age of 16 will be accepted for training. Prior to the instructor training course, candidates must attend a skills assessment, details of which can be found in our resources page.
